QUOTE FOR THE WEEKEND:

“Hemophilia is a rare disorder in which your blood doesn’t clot normally because it lacks sufficient blood-clotting proteins (clotting factors). If you have hemophilia, you may bleed for a longer time after an injury than you would if your blood clotted normally.

Hemophilia is a genetic disorder. Treatment includes regular replacement of the specific clotting factor that is reduced.”

MAYO CLINIC

QUOTE FOR FRIDAY:

“The NIH scientists, from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases’ Montana facility at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, compared how the environment affects SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV-1, which causes SARS. SARS-CoV-1, like its successor now circulating across the globe, emerged from China and infected more than 8,000 people in 2002 and 2003. SARS-CoV-1 was eradicated by intensive contact tracing and case isolation measures and no cases have been detected since 2004. SARS-CoV-1 is the human coronavirus most closely related to SARS-CoV-2. In the stability study the two viruses behaved similarly, which unfortunately fails to explain why COVID-19 has become a much larger outbreak.”

National Health Institute (NIH)

QUOTES FOR THURSDAY:

“Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a viral respiratory illness caused by a coronavirus (Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus, or MERS‐CoV) that was first identified in Saudi Arabia in 2012. CDC is responding to an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus.”

World Health Organization

“Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is a novel coronavirus, identified in patients with respiratory symptoms in the Middle East. Accumulating evidence points to dromedary camels as being reservoirs. MERS-CoV has been isolated from dromedaries, and dromedary MERS-CoV is nearly identical to human MERS-CoV. Camel and human MERS-CoV genome sequences from the same geographic areas cluster together. Both on the Arabian Peninsula and in Africa high percentages of adult dromedaries are seropositive for MERS-CoV.”

QUOTE FOR WEDNESDAY:

“Through FEMA (fema.gov) they present that On March 13, 2020, the President declared the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant an emergency declaration for all states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia pursuant to section 501 (b) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. 5121-5207 (the “Stafford Act”). State, Territorial, Tribal, local government entities and certain private non-profit (PNP) organizations are eligible to apply for Public Assistance. FEMA and Stafford Disaster Relief in action to its highest level – level 1 to prevent this turning into more cases or deaths”

FEMA (fema.gov)

Update on Covid-19/Corona Virus from Federal Government as of today 12pm.

First let us review what the 2 following mean:

The Stafford Act:  The Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (Stafford Act) is a 1988 United States federal law designed to bring an orderly and systematic means of federal natural disaster assistance for state and local governments in carrying out their responsibilities to aid citizens.  Which was evoked previously (see below for details).

2-FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) mission is to support the citizens and first responders to promote that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

Through FEMA (fema.gov) they present that On March 13, 2020, the President declared the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant an emergency declaration for all states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia pursuant to section 501 (b) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. 5121-5207 (the “Stafford Act”). State, Territorial, Tribal, local government entities and certain private non-profit (PNP) organizations are eligible to apply for Public Assistance.

President Donald Trump specifies in today’s update he provided:

1-“Through the Stafford Act and FEMA who is now engaged in highest region, Level 1 being the highest level is where we are at.  They are already in Tennessee now for their tragic event recently this year, tornado.

FEMA has come through in many previous disasters.”

2-“The two hospital massive size ships called The Mercy and The Comfort. The Comfort right now is in San Diego and with the other coming to NY soon.  Senator Cuomo was spoken to by President Trump about this and is happy.”

3-“The first clinical vaccine trial candidate started in Washington state this week, as many know already through the news.  The genetic sequence was published the month of February.”

4-“The first published in January 2020 but thanks to the unprecedented partnership between  FDA, NNH and the private sector we have reached human trials for the vaccine just 8 weeks later.  It use to take months to do this and years to do this.  We have done this in a very short while.  That is the fastest develop we have in history in development of the vaccine.”

5-“Today it can be said we have taken further steps to develop testing capacity to develop testing groups.  The self swab is another test we are working on and if it tests positive at home than you go to a GP and Trump is trying to cut through red tape on regulations with the FDA to make this available.”

“President Trump will be meeting with nurses today to express his thanks to all for the hard work they are doing in helping our country.  He also expressed his thanks to all doctors, lab techinicians, nursing assistants any other medical staff at risk.  Governor Murphy or NJ thanks all from the bottom of his heart.”

6-President Trump on today stated he directed the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to suspend evictions and foreclosures through April as Americans grapple with the fallout of the corona virus.

“The Department of Housing and Urban Development is providing immediate relief to renters and homeowners by suspending all foreclosures and evictions until the end of April,” Trump said at a White House press briefing. “So we’re working very closely with [HUD Secretary] Dr. Ben Carson and everybody from HUD.”

We must sacrifice and pull all together to make this enemy invisible.  This means do not panic!

Mr. Mike Pence, Vice President states:

“Corona virus in all 50 states and are to support business and families in all states.”

“Northern Border is closed for all in preventing spread.”

“Supply chain and country to have a conference with renew ongoing collaboration.”

“Testing we are increasing in the numbers testing in 1000’s per country.”

“Those without signs and symptoms should not be tested.”

Since the one with symptoms should be tested first.  Like when you have a family member with the flu not every person in the house is tested just the person feeling sick.  The flu can kill just like Covid19/Corona but usually this happens in elders.  Ex. A 10 year car is more out to die than a 3 or 4 year old car since the systems under the hood and body of the car are younger.

“Our supplies has our task force involved with ongoing efforts to make ongoing resources available.”

“Medical professionals available to help in with having appointments with pt’s with on line skype.”

“Delaying elective procedures to allow supplies available.”

“The President states the 25 delay to not allow spread.  This is to get  Americans to try to go in controlling the number.

Dr. Burke  stated in the conference today 12PM to 1PM:

Results out of France and Italy part of this is due to the early part of China with elders with previous conditions.

Our future generations will carry us through this.

We are looking at all information carefully and all Americans must take responsibility.  Their are reasons for these constrictions.

The impact on nursing homes and made restrictions in visits and their age group is the most at risk.

We can go from level 3 to 7 we need all to get healthy and follow guidance and protect each other.  Do not socialize in large groups especially if you are off.

Bringing in the private sector.  We rely on the private sector. We prioritize the regions where we need diagnose.   In doing this its prioritizing who needs the greatest need (ending line meaning the greatest number to prevent further spread).

Our curves will not be stable immediately the next few weeks since we just got recently faster testing.  So county by county analyses will be done of 1000’s of cases that were tested days ago with longer testing process will now

We inherited a very obsolete system, like the flu take you got it and got better and now we need a complex testing for Covid-19 but we got it now in a short time using great private sectors/companies.  We inherited a system in 2016 for this kind of a illness not ever made from years ago with others in office not President Trump who got on this immediately with success in quicker testing, already trial vaccinations, and health restrictions with guidelines.  This is to get this completely under control to prevent less incidences and deaths.

Mark Lewis DOD stated the following at the conference:

5 million respirator ventilator masks to military and hospitals and labs and other medical facilities.  The 1st million available today.

Tele health without any co-pays

Reality is we must use protective equipment and N95 masks to especially those at high risk.

Dental elective procedures and elective invasive medical procedures on hold to put less people at risk for this virus

To protect the 9 million veterans  in effect is limit visitors in VA facilities (the first medical facility that was doing this), expanded restrictions in living centers as well, limited the dental surgeries provided, and cancelled elective surgeries.  VA took the first action.  Our veterans have been in the hardest positions in life, who are out there in front lines.

The WHO-World Health Organization states the following:

“The maximum incubation period is assumed to be up to 14 days,  whereas the median time from onset of symptoms to intensive care unit (ICU) admission is around 10 days.  Recently, WHO reported that the time between symptom onset and death ranged from about 2 weeks to 8 weeks.”.  So stay inside and go out for necessities only.  Stay in your house between 8pm to 7am.  It again prevents spread.  President Trump, our government, our states, our locals are all taking this seriously and there is a reason!  No human is indispensable to disease especially is exposed to the disease, like Covid-19/Corona virus.  It in the end can damage the lung to death.

Chinese Virus its called due to this virus coming from China, it is not racist as President Trump stated.  Facts are Facts lets not push agendas when we are just telling in the name, where it came from.  Examples like West Niles Virus this disease is mosquito-borne form of encephalitis, this was discovered in the West Nile District of Uganda in 1937 and has probably been around since antiquity.

At this conference it was brought up more than once by reporters if  President Trump blames China doing this, he did state he knows it came from this country and resources of many back that up.  Also brought up is by one journalist “Does he blame China for purposefully allowing this?”.  President Trump stated “No but China could have informed us the US earlier.”   This is very sensible, logical, and good health control thinking as a President for US citizens.  Protecting us from what?  If you don’t know, this virus in the end can effect your lungs and if it does effect your lungs this illness can cause MERS or SARS.  Many people die from MERS or SARS and will cover those 2 topics tomorrow on striveforgoodhealth.com!

Human trials testing a potential vaccine for the COVID-19 corona virus are expected to begin in six weeks, U.S. health officials announced Tuesday.

“We are on time at least and maybe even a little bit better,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, told reporters at a press conference. “Hopefully, no further glitches.”

QUOTE FOR THE WEEKEND:

“Factor V (FV) deficiency was first described in a Norwegian patient in 1943 and reported by Dr. Paul Owren in 1947. Its incidence is about 1 in 1 million; fewer than 200 cases have been documented worldwide.  It should not be confused with factor V Leiden, a clotting disorder.

The FV protein is a catalyst, accelerating the process by which prothrombin is converted to thrombin, the initial step in clot formation.  FV deficiency is usually inherited in an autosomal recessive fashion, meaning both parents must carry the gene to pass it on to their children; it affects men and women equally.”

National Hemophilia Foundation

Bleeding Disorder Month – Factor V (Labile Factor, Proaccelerin) Deficiency (Owren’s Disease, Parahemophilia)

Factor V (FV) deficiency was first described in a Norwegian patient in 1943 and reported by Dr.

FV deficiency is usually inherited in an autosomal recessive fashion, meaning both parents must carry the gene to pass it on to their children; it affects men and women equally.

Symptoms

Common characteristics of FV deficiency are bruising, bleeding under the skin, and nose, gum and mouth bleeds.  Babies with severe FV deficiency are at increased risk of intracranial hemorrhage, or bleeding in the brain. People with severe FV deficiency can also experience bleeding in the lungs and gastrointestinal tract, which can be life threatening. Women frequently have menorrhagia, long, heavy periods.

Testing

Diagnosis is made through activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) test, prothrombin time (PT) test and thrombin clotting time (TCT) test.  Diagnosis can be confirmed with a factor V assay.  Factor V is found in both plasma and platelets, so platelet function may be affected.

Treatment

Fresh frozen plasma (FFP) is the only treatment available, as no commercially available factor V concentrate exists.  In acute cases of severe bleeding, the addition of platelet concentrates may be needed.  Solvent-detergent FFP may contain a more reliable level of FV than standard FFP.

Combined FV/FVIII Deficiency

Combined factor VIII (FVIII) and factor V deficiency is a very rare disorder, found in fewer than 100 patients from 60 families worldwide, mostly in Iran, Israel and Italy. Most cases are mild to moderate. Symptoms can include frequent nosebleeds, easy bruising, and excessive bleeding after injury or surgery. Women can experience menorrhagia and postpartum hemorrhage. Treatment includes fresh frozen plasma. In some cases, bleeds may be treated with FVIII concentrates and desmopressin acetate, the synthetic version of the hormone vasopressin.
